IMPROVE YOUR POSTURE WORKSHOPS
Through the use of thoughtful, yoga-based poses and self inquiry, you'll learn ways to better your posture and feel stronger and more flexible while unwinding stress and pain in your neck, shoulders, arms, hands, lower back and hips. And the great part is, participants don't need any yoga experience to join.
TRIGGER POINT SELF-MASSAGE WORKSHOP SERIES
The areas where you experience pain or stiffness are typically a symptom and not the source of the problem. When muscles are overworked or strained, they can refer pain to other seemingly unrelated areas of the body, and can set off a whole constellation of issues.
Taught in a series of 2 or 4 sessions, in the Trigger Point Workshops you will learn the most common self-massage "hot-spots" that often address the source of your tension.
Participants will also learn the art of applying appropriate pressure to encourage muscles to relax. Take-home workbook materials are included to help you remember what you learned after the workshop is over.
IREST® MEDITATION SERIES
Life is all about how you respond to it.
In this evidence-based, trauma-informed meditation series, participants will increase awareness of how thoughts, beliefs, body, breath and emotions are connected, and how mindful awareness can improve one's sense of well-being and help navigate issues like anxiety, depression, addiction and chronic pain.
Offered as a 4, 6 or 8 session program, everything you learn in these sessions can be done in regular clothes from the comfort of a chair.
ALSO AVAILABLE THROUGH WELLNESS WORKSHOPS:
* "Brush-Ups": quarterly follow-ups to refresh information provided in the self-care workshops
* Regular weekly or monthly chair or mat classes
* Fall Prevention
Stress-related injuries and conditions are increasing every day. Why? The average work week is increasing from 40 to 50 hours, or more, per week. This means that the average employee is assuming more and more responsibilities and dealing with unprecedented challenges. All of this leads to an alarming amount of stress in our lives. Stress impacts our work environment by:
*Reducing productivity and morale
*Increasing work-related musculoskeletal problems
*Raising benefits expenses
*Increasing employee absenteeism and turnover
Workplace Yoga can help!
We have many years of experience in combating stress with our customized corporate and organizational yoga-based program. Yoga is a scientific discipline that offers practical and tangible results while addressing tension in both the body and the mind. Yoga at the workplace has become popular in many companies nationwide because of the stress reduction benefits and the low cost of implementation.
Unlike other exercise routines, yoga is low impact, improves strength and flexibility, builds concentration, and reduces mental and physical stress and tension. In addition, yoga is known to eradicate fatigue and generate energy, all of which lead to increased productivity and morale.
Yoga exercises are simple and can be modified for different skill levels and abilities - perfect for the office environment!
While most stress management workshops just talk about how to deal with stress, our yoga programs get results. Your employees will learn and experience proven techniques that have immediate and lasting effects. BalanceWork Yoga brings:

"As a nurse working with children with cancer, we face so much stress daily. Mark and the folks at Balance Work have been a blessing with their willingness to come to our off-site retreat for staff and provide yoga instruction and chair massage for everyone. These activities are exactly what we need to help us manage our stress and recharge our batteries. The staff members consistently rave about how wonderful they all are and how they can't wait to come back to the next retreat. These retreats would absolutely not be the same without our awesome yoga and massage! I would highly recommend them for any event!"
Diane Altounji, Children's Hospital Los Angeles
Mark is an amazing, inspiring teacher. He doesn't just demonstrate the poses, he articulates exactly how each pose can be best performed... He is also very understanding of his students' limitations and will work with each one so they can get the most out of their practice. His calm soothing manner puts you in a completely relaxed frame of mind. His class is a wonderful respite from the stresses of the workday."
Alison R.- City of West Hollywood Staff Attorney
"I hired Mark to teach yoga during the lunch hour for staff and Fellows at The American Film Institute. His method is completely inclusive and encouraging, allowing students at any level to join the class on any day. It is amazing how just an hour of slow and contemplative yoga can be helpful in reducing stress levels. I am very lucky to have found Mark in the crowded field of yoga instructors."
